For the past three years we've had a DCV booth. It's our way of describing what the Village is and does for both those who wish to know more, interested in belonging and those who might want to become a DCV volunteer. It's a jolly time and definitely fits the spirit of our neighborhood.

In addition to giving out information, we sell water and cookies, including hugely popular dog biscuits.

Here are two ways in which we need member help:

1. Sign up to sit at the table and greet those who pass by, telling them about the Village, offering handouts of materials and of course, happily selling them water and cookies. You can sign up for 1 or 2 hours or more. There are always about 3-4 of us tending the booth at the same time; this is not a lone-ranger job! It's fun!

2. Bake to your heart's delight! We need simple cookies/brownies. Also breakfast breads (for brunch on Sunday). Of course chocolate chip sell like hot cakes but so do date bars and brownies nf other kinds of cookies Avoid icing cookies -- yes, they may look gorgeous but they also melt in the heat and become unappetizing-looking. If you are a gluten-free baker, yippee! We need gluten free offerings too; be sure to label them gluten-free.

Please call the office (202-436-5252) or email Ann Talty (admin@dupontcirclevillage.net) to offer your services either by helping at the booth or baking or both! Let us know what kind of cookies/bars/brownies you are making so we can see the range of offerings before we begin to bake.

If you are making cookies, please bring them to the Office (2121 Decatur Place) on August 23rd between 10-2 or on Aug 24th (the day before) between 10 and noon. If it's not obvious what your cookie is, please label them. The Committee bags them and prices them to make them ready for sale on Saturday. If you'd like to be part of the bagging party, just show up on the 24th at noon; we'd love to have you.)
