The Washington Post‘s chief film critic, Ann Hornaday, comes to the WNDC just three days before Oscar night to discuss the upcoming Academy Awards, issues related to the motion picture industry, and her book, Talking Pictures: How to Watch Movies. Hornaday, who has been with the Post since 2002, previously worked for The Austin American-Statesman and The Baltimore Sun. She also has worked for The New York Times and for Ms. Magazine. She is a 1982 cum laude graduate of Smith College. In 2008, she was a finalist for the Pulitzer Prize in criticism.
Members of the Smith College Club of Washington, DC, will join WNDC members for this event.The book will be available for purchase and signing.
